I studied painting, printmaking, ceramics and sculpture at Liverpool and Exeter Colleges of Art in the 1960s, gaining a Diploma in Art & Design (DipAD). I was one of the first art college graduates to study for a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education at Exeter University.
I’ve taught in various secondary schools and worked as a freelance journalist and copywriter, illustrator and portrait artist, among other things. Since I gave up teaching, I’ve conducted about 1000 funerals without religion, as well as some weddings and baby-namings, and have had little time for art. Now that I’ve retired as a celebrant, things will change.
Over the last couple of years I’ve developed an interest in digital art and photography. Large scale paintings are no longer possible, so working on a smaller scale suits me.
